UConn Huskies women's basketball star Paige Bueckers missed out the entire 2022-23 season because of a torn ACL injury in her left knee. Following her rehabilitation, Bueckers returned to play for the Huskies last year and led them to an NCAA Tournament spot, where they eventually lost to Iowa in the Final Four.
On Tuesday, Paige Bucekers posted a few snaps of her journey throughout the 2023-24 season with the Huskies. These photos painted the picture of the adventure that Bueckers experienced with her team and how they faced every challenge and hurdle put up against them.
"I miss hoopin," Paige Bueckers wrote in the caption.
After returning to the court, Paige Bueckers played 39 games for the UConn Huskies in 2023. She averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game with a field goal percentage of 53%.
While facing off against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Final Four, Bueckers put up 17 points, four rebounds and three assists. It did not prove enough as the Hawkeyes sealed a 71-69 victory, following which they lost to South Carolina in the national championship game.
Paige Bueckers expresses gratitude to her dad on Father's Day
The UConn Huskies star showered her dad with love on Father's Day. Bueckers posted an Instagram story where she shared a collage of herself with her dad over the years. The post also included a snippet of Paige with her father when she was a child and another photo of herself embracing him.
The young basketball star accompanied the story with some heartfelt words for all the support and sacrifices her father made for her throughout the years.
"Happy Fathers Day!! Thanks for being my source of undonditional love & support. Love you"
Despite being eligible for the 2024 WNBA draft, Bueckers decided to return to UConn for her senior year. It will be interesting to see if she can end her collegiate career with a national championship to her name.
