USC Trojans coach Lindsay Gottlieb posted a sweet message to her daughter, Reese Caroline Gottlieb, on Instagram to start the Christmas celebrations. Reese turned two on Oct. 15. However, her mom shared a photo of the little girl posing in front of a brightly lit Christmas tree on Monday.
"2 going on teenager... I can't crying😭," she captioned the photo.
Gottlieb dated Patrick Martin, a finance entrepreneur, for a year and got engaged in March 2017. They welcomed their first child, Jordan, on May 7, 2017. The couple tied the knot on September 23, 2018 and welcomed their daughter, Reese, in 2022.
Lindsay Gottlieb gives insight on working with JuJu Watkins
Lindsay Gottlieb is in her fourth year as USC's coach and reached her 300th career win in the Trojans' 124-39 victory over CSUN on Nov. 12. One of the highlights of Gottlieb's career was recruiting JuJu Watkins, the No. 1-ranked player in her class last year.
Watkins set a freshman record with 920 points last season. Now a sophomore, Watkins is averaging 25.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She was named Big Ten Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, the first Trojan to achieve this recognition.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times last month, Gottlieb talked about her relationship with the star player over the past year.
"I would say my instinct with JuJu is to do as much as I can to allow her to be happy and fulfilled as a young person and to be as successful as possible," Gottlieb said. "I want to get out of her way and let her be the artist, creative basketball player she is. ...
"We're always on the same page with what the team goals are and what she’s facing. I just try and show up for her in that way."
Gottlieb's Trojans hope to continue their fantastic run when they host the Fresno State Bulldogs on Tuesday.
