JuJu Watkins threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Freeway Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels on Saturday. The freshman guard was seen sporting the Air Jordan 1 Low colorway of the Travis Scott x Fragment Design shoes. It features Fresh Military Blue accents the heel, collar and insole.

“This is probably the most nervous I’ve ever been,” she said (via Associated Press). “Basketball comes easy, not baseball. I always see it on social media. Never did I think I would be throwing a pitch.”

The Los Angeles native wore her personalized No. 12 Dodgers jersey and threw the ball with her right hand, despite a sprained index finger. After delivering the strike to Dodgers pitcher Gavin Stone, Watkins made the pre-game call, “It’s time for Dodger baseball.”

JuJu Watkins has had a busy week as she participated as a panel member at the 2024 Women's Sports House in Cannes on Tuesday. She joined UCLA Bruins' KiKi Rice, Elle Duncan, SportsCenter anchor at ESPN and Rita Ferro, President of Global Advertising at Disney for conversations on "Putting Women's Sports on TV."

Watkins also joined Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe for the relaunch of 'A Touch More' live podcast at Stagwell's "SPORT BEACH" on Wednesday. She even clicked pictures with Kansas City Chief's TE Travis Kelce.

JuJu Watkins shares her excitement for the upcoming college season

JuJu Watkins enjoyed an incredible freshman season with the USC Trojans and led them to the first Elite Eight appearance since 1994. She averaged 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.6 blocks while shooting 40.1% from the floor.

Her on-court achievements aside, Watkins revived the Trojans women's basketball program as she drew in fans and played in front of sold-out crowds. Now, as she prepares for the next season, the USBWA National Freshman of the Year shared her excitement during an appearance on NBA Unplugged with Kevin Hart.

"It's definitely so exciting," she said. "I mean, just to see the crowds. We're getting the support, the media attention, it just inspires me to keep working harder, and the attention is very well deserved.
"So many great players in the W(NBA) and in college right now on the women's side, and we're all just killing it honestly, so I'm excited to see how well my peers and I do."

The Trojans have made some major moves this off-season and rank No. 1 in the 2024 recruiting class. They are one of the favorites to win the NCAA title in 2025 along with UConn and South Carolina.
