A CBB analyst says the situation at Storrs is "panicky" amid reports of Dan Hurley's unexpected move to the Lakers

Dan Hurley is poised to be the new head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. Hurley won back-to-back championships with the UConn Huskies and is being considered for the Lakers head coaching job after the franchise fired Darvin Ham.

John Fanta, Fox Sports College Basketball Broadcaster/Reporter and the host of "Big East Shootaround," joined the "GoJo and Golic" podcast to talk about Dan Hurley's situation.

Fanta said that Dan Hurley had spoken to his players and told them he was in talks with the Lakers. This has led to a "highly concerned and panicky" atmosphere at UConn. Hurley also told them that he plans to make a decision soon.

"Right now, the vibes are highly concerned and panicky. I mean, because you're talking about a situation where you are on cloud nine. Your team is on cloud nine. Your program is on cloud nine. UConn's basketball has mostly been on cloud nine since 199 with six national championships in the last 25 years." said John Fanta.

He then talked about how Hurley admired legendary coach John Wooden and even kept a picture of him in his office.

"Dan Hurley talks about becoming John Wooden. He has a picture of John Wooen in his office in stores. Because he wants to be like him. Of course, five to seven years from now he thought I'll be in the NBA. Well, that gets accelerated if it's the Los Angeles Lakers calling," continued Fanta. "So what's the vibes? He told his players yesterday morning before their noon practice that yes, these rumors, they're real that he's in talks with the Lakers."

What could block Dan Hurley's move to the Lakers?

While UConn has been a top program for two decades, Hurley will be more concerned about his family for this move. Hurley had a hard time convincing his spouse Andrea to relocate.

When Hurley was rumored to join the Kentucky Wildcats, he stated that his wife's living preferences would be hindered, so the move was not possible.

However, this could be the transfer for Hurley, as the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the biggest franchises in the NBA. Hurley would have a lot of planning to do considering his family.

Do you think Dan Hurley will move to Los Angeles?
