Kiyan Anthony is making the best time of his off-season, spending quality time with both his parents and playing incredible basketball. His father, Carmelo Anthony, accompanies the guard on his Nike EYBL circuit run with Team Melo.

In a recent Instagram life update from his mother La La Anthony, both La La and Kiyan are seen dancing, singing, and having fun family time.

Kiyan Anthony still undecided on college program after high school

The Long Island Lutheran senior recently dropped 40 points, going 15-of-19 from the floor and 5-of-6 from the three-point range at the annual Peach Jam Tournament. This is just one highlight from his series of incredible performances this summer.

With this, he is drumming interest in where he could potentially play after the end of his high school career. For now, he has received offers from several major programs, including Syracuse, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Indiana, Rutgers, Arizona State, Florida State, USC and more.

Many believe that the 6-foot-4 guard would choose his father, Melo's alum, Syracuse. However, that does not seem to be the case. In an interview from 2023 with Yahoo Sports, he said:

"I feel like everyone does think I’m going to go to Syracuse, but that’s not the case. Syracuse is definitely an option and a school I like, but I’m going to go to the best place for me."

With him starting his senior season this fall, a decision is expected from him in October or November. Before that, he will be announcing his top five schools sometime next week.

Kiyan Anthony offers a peak into rigorous training sessions with his father, Carmelo

In the next few years, the NBA is set to welcome an entire generation of players whose fathers were exceptional stars in the league. This started with Bronny James and is set to include Kiyan Anthony, Cameron Boozer, Bryce James, Alijah Arenas, and more.

With this comes the pressure of legacy, and it seems like Carmelo is preparing his son for the best.

“He doesn’t go easy on me,” Kiyan said. “If I were to mess up, he’ll get on me. He just wants me to be great and I don’t take it personal or anything like that. When we start to play one-on-one, he’ll guard me real aggressive just so I can feel what the next-level strength is like.
"He was in the league for 20 years so he goes hard against me just so I can feel the forearm, how strong he is with the ball, just so I can be ready.”

He will be eligible for the 2026 NBA draft, but Melo has expressed interest in his son avoiding the one-and-done route.
