Kiyan Anthony showed his mother La La love as he got her face tattooed on his left arm. In a video shared to his Instagram story, the son of former NBA great Carmelo Anthony is seen sitting up, on his phone as his tattoo artist draws his mother on him.
This is not the 17-year-old Anthony's first tattoo. He also has a tattoo on his left ankle, which says "Creator of my own reality."
La La Anthony is a loud and proud mother who always shares her son's achievements on her Instagram. That does not mean she goes easy on him, though.
In an episode with Complex Sports in February, the mother and son interviewed each other. When the question of GOAT in basketball came up, La La named her son as her GOAT. However, his choice shocked her as he chose Paul George over his father. She jokingly threatened to leave, saying:
“Are you serious? I am leaving. When are you gonna say your dad’s name? The fact that you didn’t say your dad first is crazy to me."
He has since then acknowledged Melo as the GOAT as he wishes him on Father's Day.
Carmelo Anthony's son Kiyan shares thoughts on college recruitment
Anthony is set to enter his senior year in high school. The 2025 recruit has received offers from 19 schools, including his father's school Syracuse.
Anthony visited the schools in October 2023. Other prominent schools include Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan, Tennessee, Illinois, Arizona State and more.
When discussing what he's looking for from his college, he said:
“I’m looking for good coaching, and I want to play for a good team. I want to win. I feel like all the schools that I am talking to have a winning culture. I’ll want to go somewhere that is family-oriented too,” Kiyan Anthony said. (via A Sea of Blue)
Anthony is the No. 27 recruit in the 2025 class per On3. Moreover, he is the consensus top prospect in the state of New York.
