Beating AP Top 25 teams will always be huge for underdog squads. Clemson's victory over No. 20-ranked California is no exception.

After beating the Golden Bears 69-58 on Thursday, the Tigers' coaching staff led the celebrations as they entered the team room by hilariously throwing water at the players with excitement. The March Madness women's basketball page posted the memorable moment on Instagram.

"Tigers are HYPE after defeating No. 20 California," @marchmadnesswbb captioned.

How Clemson performed against California

The game between the Tigers and the No. 20-ranked Golden Bears was close for most of the game.

In the first half, they exchanged blows as only one point separated them with Clemson leading 36-35 at the break. Then the second half arrived.

The Tigers dominated on both sides of the ball in the third quarter. They outscored California 25-11 as they grew their lead to double-digits.

The Golden Bears won the fourth quarter but didn't have enough scoring to pull off a comeback. Ioanna Krimili led the team with 18 points on 6 of 14 shooting, including 3 of 7 from beyond the arc.

Loyal McQueen led the Tigers with 18 points on 7 of 18 shooting in 34 minutes. Mia Moore provided 14 points and five rebounds, Tessa Miller put up 11 points and five rebounds and Raven Thompson finished with 10 points and three rebounds.

The win improved Clemson to 9-5 this season. They are averaging 70.1 points on 45.4% shooting and 38.0% from deep. On defense, they have limited teams to 58.4 points.

Their ability to rebound and move the ball has helped them get off to a decent start. They grab 8.1 more rebounds than their opponents (37.9-29.8) and create 15.8 assists. McQueen leads the team's offense with 13.7 points along with 5.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.

The Tigers will look to build on the momentum in their next matchup, hosting Stanford at Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
