Shelomi Sanders is making the best of her redshirt junior season with the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. The guard posted a TikTok video on Thursday dancing to "Break the Bank" by kaanbrv with her Bulldogs teammate, Jaiyah Harris-Smith.

Shelomi Sanders played five minutes in the 89-53 win over the Mississippi Valley State Devilettes on Thursday evening. She finished with two points and one assist.

Twelve games into the season with the Bulldogs, Sanders is already averaging more minutes and games than she did with her previous teams: Jackson State and Colorado. With the Buffaloes, the guard played five games and averaged 1.8 minutes per outing.

The increased time on the floor has also raised her output, and Sanders is averaging 1.3 points, 0.3 points and 0.3 assists. The junior is working hard on her game and has shared her progress with fans on social media.

Shelomi Sanders' move to Alabama A&M did not come easy, as her father, Deion Sanders, was apparently against it. While tensions were high for some time, the guard revealed that they have since smoothed things over.

"You know, he is my dad, and he's also a coach, so I think that's why he kind of just had a reaction like that," Shelomi said. "But we handled and discussed things behind closed doors, so it's all good now."

Shelomi Sanders shares her New Year goals with fans

With the turn of the new year, setting resolutions and goals is the norm, and Shelomi Sanders shared hers with fans on Instagram on Wednesday. While promoting ambassadorship with singer Rihanna's brand, Savage X Fenty, Sanders said:

“I don’t know about y’all, but this new year, I have some goals. I want to focus more in on taking care of my body and making sure that I’m 110%. It involves stretching more, recovery lifts, and yoga."

While she is training to raise her performance, Sanders must also be cautious about it as she is diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The guard shared how she managed her practice session without overexerting herself.

"I share my levels with my trainer, too. I just give her one look or she gives me one look and it’s like, okay yeah, my blood’s either high or low," she said (via People). "They always make sure I have everything I need.
"The coaches, managers and everyone, they make sure I have water and a Gatorade just in case my blood goes low during practice. It just makes everything much easier."

Sanders has not let her diagnosis get in her way and continues to work hard toward her basketball goals.
