WATCH: Dawn Staley’s South Carolina star players get honored at LSU vs. Gamecocks game

Dawn Staley had yet another big moment this week as the fans huddled together to honor the 38-0 run of South Carolina's championship season. The big moment came when marching bands performed to honor Staley and her program at halftime of the SEC football game between LSU and South Carolina on Saturday.

Cheerleaders waved the flags as fans made a 38-0 formation at Williams-Brice Stadium. On Thursday, President Joe Biden invited Staley to celebrate the third national championship victory.

ESPN shared the video of the Saturday event and captioned it:

After losing to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Final Four contest of the 2022-23 season, Staley geared up to challenge again in the next season. She won the 2023-24 NCAA tournament in style without conceding a loss.

In the football game against LSU, South Carolina lost 36-33. Staley was the guest picker in the match.

But Staley ensured to be a fan first and a guest picker next. She waved white towels in the Rally Towels events alongside the Gamecocks fans.

Dawn Staley is eyeing yet another mayhem in the upcoming year

Staley has kept no secrets about her intentions for the next NCAA championship. She wants to repeat it, though she has similar challenges to what she faced after the 2022-23 season.

MSN quoted the South Carolina coach as she was candid about scripting yet another similar unbeaten run:

“What I am most looking forward to right now though Jess I didn’t get my workout in but… Because you and I are standing here I feel like I’m okay. All right y’all know who Jess is right? I do your class? No, I don’t want to do any classes now but I am excited for… for this group, for this team, to what we call it Raven? The repeat tour. Let’s go!,”

WNBA drafted Kamilla Cardoso, and the star went to Chicago Sky this year. But Staley knows how to craft a fighting unit from scratch.

After losing to the Hawkeyes in 2023, top players such as Aliyah Boston, Zia Cooke and Brea Beal went to the WNBA. But Staley rebuilt the roster and led her team to victory, something that her fans expect her to repeat.
