The Gonzaga Bulldogs narrowly avoided a major catastrophe on Friday while on their charter plane at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). A video emerged of Gonzaga's aircraft almost being hit by a Delta plane while traversing a runway at LAX.

Delta Flight 471 was about to take off from the runway when Gonzaga's charter plane appeared to move toward that area. An air traffic controller immediately alerted the pilots of the charter flight and said:

"Key Lime, stop, stop, stop!"

Key Lime Air provided the charter plane for the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Fortunately for the Zags men's basketball team and the passengers of the Delta plane bound for Atlanta, the pilots of the charter reacted quickly to the air traffic controller's request. They stopped their plane, letting the Delta flight take off without incident.

Gonzaga's charter proceeded to cross the runway seconds later. Plane spotter and journalist Kevin Ray captured the footage on his YouTube channel. In the clip, he is heard saying, "Wow," after witnessing a near collision between the two aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration has since launched an investigation regarding the incident between Key Lime Air Flight 563 and Delta Flight 471.
