Miami Hurricanes star Hanna Cavinder is gearing up for the upcoming season. She is working hard to return to playing after being away from the sport for a year.
In her latest Instagram post, Cavinder displayed her impeccable three-point shooting skills during the Hurricanes' offseason drills.
"sunday morning hoops," Cavinder captioned the post.
Cavinder and her twin sister, Hailey are determined to make a comeback. In April, the twins announced their return to the Miami Hurricanes for their final season of college basketball via social media.
"My last season of basketball was one of the most successful and challenging years of my life, but it helped me evolve and grow in ways that are unexplainable," Cavinder wrote.
"Over these past few months I have been itching to get back to the game that I thought I lost the love and passion for. Nothing quite fills the void that this sport brings me," she added.
Hanna and Haley are social media sensations with millions of followers on TikTok. They have become well-known in college sports, signing endorsement deals with different companies for their NIL.
Following the 2022–23 season, Hanna Cavinder left basketball, while Haley transferred to play for TCU in 2024–25.
"Hanna and I have decided to not take our fifth year and start a new chapter in our lives," Haley announced on social media. "The U will always be home and we are forever proud to be Hurricanes."
Hanna Cavinder and Hailey Cavinder are new co-founders at Hustle Beauty
Hailey and Hanna Cavinder partnered with Hustle Beauty, a beauty product brand, on June 25 to take on the roles of co-founders.
"We’ve always dreamed of getting involved in the beauty industry, and this opportunity feels like a perfect match," Hanna said.
"We love working with brands that empower women and promote confidence. The focus on athleisure, sweat-resistant products is perfect for our active lifestyles, and it lets us connect authentically with our followers."
Besides, the Cavinders have expanded their NIL portfolio, backing several enterprises, including the all-natural protein beverage Slate Milk, for which they serve as investors and brand ambassadors.
The twins began their college basketball career at Fresno State in 2019 and stayed there for three seasons. In 2022, they moved to Miami and had a great season there.
They helped the Hurricanes make it to the Elite Eight in the 2023 NCAA Tournament for the first time in the college's history. In the 2022-23 season, Hanna Cavinder averaged 3.8 points, 1.6 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game across 34 games.
