Lucy Olsen and Taylor McCabe talk about their upcoming season's goals
Iowa women's basketball held a media day earlier this month, where several players spoke about how they have prepared for the new season and what they want to accomplish.
Lucy Olsen and Taylor McCabe discussed their goals as they look to build on the success Iowa had the previous season.
"I've played Big Ten teams before at Villanova so it's not going to be whole new. Obviously, the Big Ten adding some teams, so I've never played USC, UCLA some of the other big schools," Olsen said.
"It's still basketball you're going to be with a new coaching staff and new team, but basketball's all the same."
McCabe said during the media day:
"There's a tradition of excellence in this program, so I plan to continue that. I'm just really excited I feel like I have taken a step back into my old chosen plan a little bit. I'm pretty excited about that and just can't wait to get started to make a difference."
McCabe, a 5-foot-9 guard, averaged 3.3 points per game last season for the Hawkeyes in 33 games, averaging 8.2 minutes. She recorded a career-high 18 points against Florida Gulf Coast on Nov. 25.
