The USC Trojans' JuJu Watkins, UCLA Bruins' KiKi Rice and LSU Tigers' Flau'jae Johnson attended the 2024 Women’s Sports House at Cannes on Tuesday. The event aims to build conversations about the future of women's sports in the next fifty years, from business, leadership, creativity, and talent aspects.

Watkins and Rice joined Rita Ferro, President of Global Advertising at Disney and Elle Duncan, SportsCenter anchor at ESPN, in the "Putting Women's Sports on TV" panel. KiKi Rice shared a snippet from the conversation to her Instagram story.

Flau'jae Johnson joined in as the performer for the night as she sang, rapped and danced with the attendees. The LSU guard is on a promotion run for her upcoming album "Best of Both Worlds" to be released on June 28. She released "Pop It" on Jun 7 as a pre-release from the album.

Phil Handy commends Juju Watkins' hunger for learning the game

Former LA Lakers coach, Phil Handy, has been coaching JuJu Watkins since her freshman year of high school. In a recent appearance on the "All the Smoke" podcast, Handy praised Watkins, saying she will take over college basketball. He also spotlighted her skills as a player and said:

"She's a killer, bro. She is a straight-up killer. But the thing I love about her is ... her humility ... that carries over into her approach to the game, her attitude. She's trying to learn, man. She wants to be great; she wants to understand the nuances of 'How do I beat double teams? You know, teams are trying to force me. How do I get better at this? What does my base look like in the post?'
"She asked so many questions to make sure that she's like really trying to get her game right. ... I just think that she's still scratching the surface she still has so much more she's still a baby. ... She's just now entering into that realm of really starting to understand the nuances of the game. It's going to be a beautiful thing to continue to see her grow."

With Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese transitioning to the WNBA, JuJu Watkins is set to be the next face of college basketball, along with Hannah Hidalgo. In just her freshman year, Watkins managed to lead the Trojans to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament as she averaged 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in the regular season.
