Kiki Rice reflects on milestone night after UCLA's impressive victory

Kiki Rice reached an impressive achievement that was one of the highlights of UCLA's night. After the game, Rice reflected on the Bruins' performance and her milestone as she remained humble, emphasizing preparation, execution and focus on winning.

Nebraska started the game with promise, keeping pace in the first half. However, the game took a dramatic turn after halftime. The third quarter proved to be the turning point as UCLA outscored Nebraska 31-13.

The Bruins shifted gears offensively, shooting 73.1% in the second half, a sharp contrast to their 42.4% clip in the first half. The Huskers ultimately lost 91-54.

After the game, Rice expressed satisfaction with their performance, crediting consistent practice and preparation for their success.

“I think I felt like I got good looks at the rim,” Rice said in the postgame presser. “The kind of shots that I practiced a lot and know I can knock down.”

Rice was unaware that her efforts had propelled her to a career milestone. It wasn’t until after the game, in the locker room, that the achievement was brought to her attention.

“I didn't know that I had 1,000 tonight until someone said it in the locker room,” Rice said. "I'm not really keeping track of that stuff, I'm just focused on winning.”
