The age-old rivalry between Kentucky and Louisville took center stage at The Basketball Tournament (TBT) as The Ville, a team of former Louisville players, faced off against La Familia, comprising former Kentucky players, in an epic quarterfinal matchup. The game, held on Monday at Freedom Hall, featured a heated altercation.

A tweet posted by Kentucky Sports Radio host Mario A Maitland captured a brawl that occurred after the whistle, when The Ville's Chinanu Onuaku spat on La Familia's Nate Sestina, resulting in a physical confrontation.

"Here’s a video of what looks like a Louisville player spitting on a few members of La Familia. Not much to say after seeing this…"

Setina spoke with the media in the postgame conference, saying that Onuaku spat on him after Sestina had playfully thrown an 'Ls down' sign to the crowd:

"Emotions ran high. That's what this game does to people. It had been great chatter the whole game. Nothing crazy. Nothing personal. And then it got personal.
"Obviously, Ls down versus Ls up, that's what this game is. He was just like, 'Don't do Ls down in here.' I was just like, 'All right. Ls down, always.' And then he walked away, and then stepped at me. My back was turned. And then he spit in my face."

La Familia won the game 70-61 and advanced to the semifinals of TBT. They will face Carmen's Crew (Ohio State Alumni) on August 2nd. Sestina led the game in points with 22 and made six threes in front of a record-breaking crowd of 13,506.

"Man, it’s crazy in here," TBT co-owner Chris Paul said on the national TV broadcast. "The scene when Louisville ran out for warmups, and then to watch Kentucky come out — you get a chance to see the energy."

Kentucky's La Familia player remains undefeated against Louisville

Kentucky alum Eric Bledsoe picked up another win and maintained his undefeated run against Louisville. Bledsoe was a part of La Familia, which defeated The Ville on Monday. He tweeted following the game:

"Man that was a hell of a game! Atmosphere was 🔥🔥!!! Still undefeated against the cards though lol .. but naw best rivalry in college and now the tbt"

The 6-foot-1 combo guard last played against the Cardinals more than a decade ago in January 2009. The match ended 71-62 in favor of the Wildcats.
