Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever played against Aaliyah Edwards and the Washington Mystics on June 7 and won the game 85-83. The rookie amassed a game-high 30 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. The game was attended by the LSU Tigers head coach, Kim Mulkey.

Apart from enjoying the hard-fought contest between the two teams, Mulkey also supported Washington Mystics' DiDi Richards, a former Baylor Bears player. Richards has sustained numerous injuries during her career. She sustained a spinal cord injury during her time with the Bears under Mulkey.

The former Baylor HC wanted to revive her spirit and had said:

“It’s like ‘to heck with basketball, let’s get her back to normal Didi, being able to walk and dance around and be happy,” as per the Inner Sanctum.

Clark has quickly become the star of the team, showing off her basketball prowess in every game. Therefore, to talk in-depth about her progress in the league, she talked to USA Today.

Caitlin Clark gave her candid thoughts on her WNBA career so far

Caitlin Clark entered the league with huge expectations on her back. Fans saw her as the player who was going to be responsible for the upliftment of the league. Though she had a rocky start in the 11 regular-season games she played, she eventually found her balance.

While talking to USA Today before the game against the Washington Mystics, the former Iowa phenom talked about her professional journey so far.

“I feel like I’ve played some good games. I feel I’ve played some games where it’s like, ‘Hmm,’" Clark said. "I think that’s just the learning curve. That’s just the adjustment period."
"I feel like I’ve gotten some good shots and good looks," Clark said. "As a shooter, that’s sometimes what happens.”

Caitlin Clark was also of the opinion that she has to improve her defense game and is working hard to break habits she's been following since her college days.

Since becoming the face of the WNBA, the No. 1 overall pick has also been facing criticism from her fans and fellow players. The UConn head coach, Geno Auriemma, thinks that she has a "huge target on her back."

However, many supporters are rooting for the two-time NCAA Player of the Year. Are you one of them? Let us know your thoughts in the discussion box.
