With the season off to a flyer, Iowa Hawkeyes players Lucy Olsen, Jada Gyamfi, Kylie Feuerbach, Sydney Affolter, Hannah Stuelke and Aaliyah Guyton joined for a dance. They took to TikTok to join in on a trend and danced to Ariana Grande's song "Sweetener." See the video below:

The Hawkeyes have had a strong start to the 2024-25 season as they stand at 9-1, so you can see why spirits are high. This comes after the team underwent major changes as Lisa Bluder retired from the team and the iconic senior class of Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall graduated from college basketball.

This season has seen the continued rise of players like Hannah Stuelke and Sydney Affolter as they take the lead to carry Iowa into its new era. Other players like Kylie Feuerbach and Jada Gyamfi are yet to reach their full potential but are well on track.

Wednesday's game against Iowa State saw the Hawkeyes take a win after the loss to Tennessee last Saturday. Affolter finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. The guard is proving to be extremely used for the Hawkeyes and coach Jan Jensen told reporters:

"Syd is, in the best way, stubborn. Syd won't realize she was out six weeks. Syd just wanted to be, 'I'm back. I'm good. We're all good.' I think what we've kind of been seeing is she hadn't hit that rhythm.
"Tonight, Syd just really took it into her own hands there for a while and said 'OK I've got to make some plays.' So I think it's going to be huge for her. She really ignited us."

Lucy Olsen recovers from injury and continues her victory run with Iowa

During the Cancun Challenge in Mexico, Lucy Olsen injured her knee and missed two games. With a healthy recovery, she returned to playing and continued to lead from the start.

In the game against Iowa State, Olsen finished with 25 points and five assists. It was also her first time experiencing the Cy-Hawk rivalry in person and she commented on the game experience later.

"We came out tonight with a lot of energy and the crowd really helped with that," said Lucy Olsen. "It was so loud in there. We were just talking about how loud. (Affolter) was like 'We're not switching the screens.' and I'm like. 'I can't hear the screen being called.' "It was really fun. I've never been in anything like it."

Up next, Lucy Olsen and the Hawkeyes will face Michigan State on Saturday.
