Hanna Cavinder is back on the basketball court with her sister Haley as the twins prepare for their final college season with the Miami Hurricanes. After the 2022-23 season, when they led Miami on a historic Elite Eight run, the Cavinder twins took the year off to focus on business and a potential WWE debut.
However, now with their return to the hardwood, Hanna and Haley Cavinder are training their bodies for the physicality and pace of basketball. Offering fans a peek into her diet, Hanna shared a typical 'What I eat in a day as a college athlete' vlog on TikTok on Friday.
Her morning begins with a bottle of water and vitamins, along with coffee. For breakfast, she has protein oats with sourdough toast. Her next meal was a protein BBQ mac & cheese, followed by homemade nachos before finishing off with a smoothie.
"food is fuel🥗🌯🍳," she wrote in the caption.
Hanna Cavinder was not at her best during her senior season as she averaged just 3.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists. In an interview with the Miami Herald, the guard revealed that, unlike her sister Haley, returning to the NCAA was not a quick decision for her.
“For me it was a slower process than it was for Haley,” Hanna said. “Just taking time away from basketball after last season I played here. My timing was different, but I knew I didn’t want to give it up and I had one season left and being back at the U is amazing.”
Hanna Cavinder says her sister is her sole reason for the return
While the Cavinder twins have played basketball together for most of their lives, college might be their last chance at sharing the court. And this, Hanna shared, was the reason for her return.
“When I made the decision to stop playing, I was excited to get more involved in the businesses and brands we are part of,” Hanna told The New York Post in an email interview. “But watching Haley train and get ready for the season made me realize that I wasn’t ready to stop playing.
"I love basketball and I know I won’t be able to play it forever. Being with my sister is the perfect way to finish out my career.”
The Cavinder twins will begin their final college season on Nov. 4 against Stetson at Coral Gables.
