Hanna Cavinder is enjoying preparations before her return to the court for the Miami Hurricanes in the 2024-25 season. The younger sister of the famed "Cavinder Twins" posted a reel on Instagram showboating her basketball skills.
She captioned the post: "summer workouts have begun💃"
A couple of weeks ago, Hanna named her motivation behind her comeback to basketball after her twin sister, Hailey, announced her return to Miami.
The CBB world was of the opinion that lucrative NIL deals were the reason behind their announcement. However, in an interview with On3 Elite Series, Hanna said:
"That was not the biggest motive. My biggest motivation was being able to go play on the court with my twin."
Announcing her return to Miami's women's basketball program after a year-long break, Hanna Cavinder is putting in the shift to get herself in top form before the Hurricanes step on the court.
"The fire is definitely back" for Hanna Cavinder
The Miami Hurricanes athlete is ready to reignite her college basketball career. Hanna talked about her mindset as the Cavinder twins announced their return to NCAA women’s basketball. She said:
“I tried to kill that fire. I honestly couldn’t watch too much (college basketball) because I knew it would just keep coming up. I was like, ‘No, there’s no opportunities for me.’ But I swear, right when you close that door, it opens. … The fire is definitely back.”
The Cavinder twins initially shined at Fresno State, with Hanna Cavinder averaging 15.7 points and 3.8 assists per game. Their move to Miami in 2022-23 saw the Hurricanes advance to a historic Elite Eight appearance.
Haley was the first to return, committing to TCU. Hanna, initially done with basketball, had a change of heart by April and announced her Miami commitment. Haley then flipped her commitment one day later so that the twins could share the court for their one last dance.
