The Notre Dame program is set to welcome five-star Jalen Haralson next year. The La Lumiere School product garnered interest from top schools like Duke, Florida State, Kansas, LSU and Purdue but chose the Fighting Irish over his finalists, Indiana and Michigan State.
His entry not only marks a huge win for coach Micah Shrewsberry but also for the program, as he is the highest-rated freshman stepping into the institution in the modern day ranking era. Shrewsberry could not help but give Jalen Haralson a huge hug when the two saw each other after his announcement.
Haralson shared his siding live via the 247Sports YouTube page and CBS Sports HQ. He is a top-15 player in the class of 2025, the second five-star commit in program history and the best player out of Indiana currently. Haralson visited Notre Dame, Michigan State and Indiana from August 31 to September 14.
Moreover, earlier this week, Micah Shrewsberry had also secured a commitment from Indianapolis’ Brady Koehler. With that, Jalen Haralson makes Notre Dame a top-5 recruiting class for 2025. The Fighting Irish trail Butler, Iowa State, Marquette and Kentucky.
What will Jalen Haralson bring to Micah Shrewsberry's roster
The 6-foot-7 forward will be a high caliber playmaking option for Micah Shrewsberry. He can utilize his length and strength to create shots for himself and to get his teammates open. His growing 6-foot-10 wingspan further compliments his physicality and athleticism, holding the promise of becoming a reliable two-way player.
Haralson loves to aggressively drive to the basket in halfcourt scenarios and displays a knack for being a fastbreak initiator. He can read ball screens, deploy tough passes and also has great timing on his cuts.
He received offers from Maryland and Indiana before he stepped onto the court for his first high school game with Fishers. Michigan State stepped in before his sophomore year, while Micah Shrewsberry offered him a scholarship within a month of his coaching role at Notre Dame.
Moreover, Jalen Haralson will also bring significant international experience to the roster behind a Team USA U17 stint this year in July.
