Paige Bueckers had a scary moment during UConn's game against Villanova on Jan. 5. The Huskies guard had a collision with the Wildcats' Jasmine Boscoe while contesting for a loose ball towards the end of the third quarter, which left her clutching her left knee amidst pin-drop silence at the Finneran Pavilion.

Bueckers then limped off the court and returned to the bench with an ice pack on her left knee, taking no further part in the game. On Jan. 7, the AP Preseason All-American quelled rumors of it being a serious injury in a fresh video which has been doing the rounds on social media.

A Paige Bueckers fan account reposted the video on Instagram with the caption:

"Paige while everyone is worried about her knee injury."

In the short clip, Bueckers, in a white hoodie and sweatpants along with a pair of cool sunglasses, was flanked by her UConn teammates, Jana El Alfy and Aubrey Griffin. The trio danced to the tunes of 'Viking' by SahBabii, and Bueckers had no problems in producing her best dance moves as her knees looked perfectly fine throughout the video.

Geno Auriemma unperturbed by Paige Bueckers' injury against Villanova

UConn head coach Geno Auriemma spoke to SNY soon after the Huskies scored a comfortable 83-58 victory over Villanova. The coach admitted that he wasn't very concerned about Paige Bueckers' injury, as he believed it was not a serious one.

"She's pretty good," said Auriemma. "It was unfortunate. The kid dove for the ball, and I'm sure people saw Paige turn her back. And it was a weird, weird situation.
"And that's funny, because we had someone at the scorer's table ready to check in. She'll be fine. She looks good, but, you know, I'm optimistic. Let's put it that way. I feel good."

Prior to her exit from the game, Paige Bueckers almost recorded a double-double, finishing with 15 points and nine assists while also grabbing three rebounds. She is averaging 19.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists, which is a signal of her intent to close out her college basketball career by leading UConn to the one title that has eluded her: the coveted national championship.

Top recruit Sarah Strong stepped up for No. 7 UConn against Villanova, finishing as the team's top scorer with 21 points while recording five rebounds, four assists, a block and a steal.

The Huskies are 4-0 in conference play and 13-2 overall this season. They will face the Xavier Musketeers in their next game, scheduled on Jan. 8 at 7:30 PM EST.
