USC prepares for a new era under the leadership of Eric Musselman. The coach was hired by the Trojans this offseason following the departure of Andy Enfield to SMU. He now holds the responsibility of resuscitating the program following the disappointment of last season.

Musselman has been active in ensuring the Trojans have the right roster for the upcoming college basketball season. The program has been very active on the NCAA transfer portal this offseason, bringing in 10 players in a bid to be more competitive next season in the Big Ten.

As the team prepares for the upcoming season, they had a prominent visitor at practice on Wednesday. Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant visited the program during their practice session. He was seen having a chat with Musselman following the conclusion of the practice.

A new challenge for Eric Musselman at USC?

The USC head coaching job is a whole new challenge for Eric Musselman. The coach has had noteworthy success at Nevada and Arkansas over the years and now he has to bring that to USC. His words during his introduction already show he is ready for the challenge.

"I knew right away it was something of great interest. We think the potential here is through the roof," Musselman said. "Coach Enfield did great things for 11 years here. We want to continue to do things that he's done and try to build on some of those things as well."

Musselman is arriving at the program at a time when it looks like their ambition has increased. USC had a brilliant recruitment in the class of 2023, led by five-star prospect Isaiah Collier. The program is set to continue on that path in the coming college basketball season.

Who has Eric Musselman brought in via the portal

Eric Musselman has been active on the transfer portal since he arrived in Southern California. The coach has ensured the addition of 10 players via the portal and a host of them are expected to play an important role in the team next season.

USC has added Wesley Yates, Saint Thomas, Bryce Pope and Kevin Patton Jr. via the portal. They've also brought in Clark Slajchert, Desmond Claude and Terrance Williams. Other transfer portal acquisitions include Rashaun Agee, Chibuzo Agbo Jr. and Matt Knowling.

Fans are waiting to see what impact the new coach can bring immediately after missing out on the NCAA Tournament in the previous season.
