South Carolina star Chloe Kitts is enjoying her offseason to the fullest after winning the NCAA championship in April. The Gamecocks forward posted a series of videos to her Instagram story on Monday showing her visiting YouTuber James Charles at the office of his company, Painted, in Los Angeles.
Charles is first seen greeting Chloe Kitts with a big smile and later even showing her a few of his dribbling skills. The official @painted.co Instagram account posted a video of Kitts' fully-done face.
Chloe Kitts was not the only Gamecock who visited Charles' office. Guard Bree Hall also joined her teammate on the trip. In one of her stories, Hall mentioned that she was going on a "quick business trip." She also added in another story that something special was coming soon in collaboration with the makeup brand.
Chloe Kitts and Bree Hall were also joined by other female athletes like UCLA gymnastics alum Gracie Kramer and Texas volleyball's Madisen Skinner. The athletes were all featured on the brand's Instagram story, getting ready for a photoshoot.
Chloe Kitts inspires the next generation of female basketball players
Chloe Kitts wrapped up her sophomore season by averaging 9.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists and helping South Carolina win its third championship. To give back to the community, Kitts hosted a basketball clinic in his hometown of Oviedo, Florida.
“It’s important to come back to my community where I played for years. I know many little girls look up to me and my team,” Kitts said (via Spectrum News).
She also gave her advice to the young girls, saying:
“Just keep being confident in yourself, just keep playing. It’s okay to express however you want, wear your lashes, get your hair done, you do you.”
In a February interview with Sports Illustrated, Chloe Kiits expressed shock at the viewership and attendance at the women's college basketball games. South Carolina's game against LSU was rated higher than the NBA tipoff between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.
"When I saw the numbers of how many people watched the game, I was surprised," Kitts said. "Not a lot of people are interested in women's basketball - so, to me, it was like, 'Wow, this many people just watched our game, and they're all interested in us.'
"It's been interesting to see how much the game has changed over time."
The Gamecocks also broke viewership records during the championship game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. ESPN recorded an average of 18.9 million viewers, peaking at 24.1 million, making it the most-watched men's or women's college basketball game on the network.
In the upcoming season, viewership numbers are expected to grow more with the rise of talents like Gamecocks' MiLaysia Fulwiley and USC's JuJu Watkins.
