South Carolina freshman MiLaysia Fulwiley joined the Gamecocks last season and has impressed with her displays on the court. Fulwiley recently collaborated with Red Bull USA in a "new training regimen."

In the video, Fulwiley dribbles the ball and tests her reaction and reflexes. She has two cans (one each of red and amber color) in front of her and has to touch the color the coach asks her to, before shooting the ball.

Apart from continuing her training, MiLaysia also became a Curry Brand athlete recently. On Tuesday, she released a promotional video on Instagram showing herself working out in the gym while drinking Red Bull.

In the last season, Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 43.8% from the field (34.3% from beyond the arc). She is fired up for the upcoming season.

Head coach Dawn Staley spoke about the athlete and praised her for her dedication and understanding:

“I think MiLaysia Fulwiley has been very patient with us to be able to have a household name coming off the bench, playing maybe, probably less than 20 minutes a game,” Staley said, “where she could have gone anywhere else in the country and they’d have given her the ball time and time again."
"Her (Fulwiley's) maturation process has been great. She's a learner. I know she just said, 'I'm out here hoopin', but she's out there hoopin' and learning and grasping what it takes to play at a high level all the time. She had it going on today; she was able to score. She was able to find teammates. I think just her presence, her speed, [and] her ability to create her own shot was needed today like no other," Staley said.

Raven Johnson praises MiLaysia Fulwiley

In a segment of South Carolina's documentary Love the Game, Raven Johnson sang Fulwiley's praises and complimented her spirit. She also praised Fulwiley's gameplay against the LSU Tigers in the SEC Tournament championship game.

Fulwiley scored 24 points, involving 66.6% shooting (including 80% from beyond the arc).

"She (Fulwiley) has a really competitive spirit about her, like she doesn't want to lose," Johnson said. Ain't nobody stopping her. She also developed a 3-ball, a consistent 3-ball. She added that to her game, it's hard to stop her like she's gonna pluck it, she's gonna score the ball."

With so much promise and such dedication, one wonders how far Fulwiley can go in her career. It will be something to watch out for in the coming years. Also worth following is how far will MiLaysia Fulwiley take South Carolina next season.
