Sydney Carter says coaching has always been her dream
Basketball has been a lifelong passion for Sydney Carter. But despite her achievements as a player, coaching has always been her ultimate dream. In an exclusive interview with xoNecole in July, Carter shared how her childhood ambitions set her on the path to becoming a coach.
“As a little girl, I always told my mom I wanted to be a teacher,” Carter said. “Coaches are also teachers because we’re teaching so many things. I’ve always wanted to help younger people. In college, I realized I was a talker and a leader on my team. Basketball has always been a true passion for me, so coaching just made sense.”
While basketball is her first love, Carter has also become a rising style icon. Her gameday outfits reflect her bold and classy fashion sense.
Fashion, for Carter, is more than just looking good; it’s a form of self-expression. She dreams of taking her passion to the next level by creating her line of suits and business wear for women.
“I want to have my own fashion line one day, especially a suit line that’s affordable for coaches inspired by my looks,” she said. “There’s so much I want to do—casual wear, workout gear, everything.
"Clothing and looking my best is a passion of mine. I tell myself I’m going to have it, and I believe it.”
With her visionary mindset and dedication, Carter is inspiring the next generation both through her leadership in basketball and her trailblazing approach to fashion.
