The Huskies guard wore the black and green jersey of the Minnesota Lynx athlete Dorka Juhasz, which she very proudly displayed to the camera. Brady rocked a beige tube top with a pair of baggy blue denim and bright orange sneakers.

Paige Bueckers determined to leave legacy at UConn

The college basketball journey of the 22-year-old athlete has been anything but predictable. Reflecting on her last four years at UConn, she reflected:

“You never know what each day will bring. You never know what life is gonna throw at you.”

This mindset shift is crucial for Bueckers, who arrived in Storrs, Conn., in 2020 with high expectations for her future.

Her freshman year was marked by COVID-19 protocols, but she envisioned four seasons of success and a ticket to the 2024 WNBA Draft. Even after advancing to three Final Fours, she is yet to clinch a national championship. With one final season left, Bueckers is laser-focused on her goal.

“There’s a much larger sense of urgency,” she said. “This is my last year to get what I came here for, which is a national championship. … No more ‘Passive Paige.’”

UConn coach Geno Auriemma has seen this shift in Bueckers. As the Huskies’ star prepares for her final year, she’s more determined than ever to leave a lasting legacy at UConn and finally capture that elusive national title.
