UConn Huskies guard Paige Bueckers is known for cracking jokes and having fun with her teammates, in addition to her dominance on the court. She is also a social media star, gaining fame for her TikTok videos with her best friend and teammate Kamorea "KK" Arnold.
Bueckers' good sense of humor was on display on Tuesday. The college basketball star shared a video advert on her Instagram in which she FaceTimed Arnold, pranking her by telling her about her new skincare routine involving using pickles on her face.
"Got @kamoreaarnold good. They might be tasty but don’t cleanse your face with pickles," Bueckers wrote in the caption.
Paige Bueckers started by telling KK that pickle juice is used for cramps. Then she brought out a whole pickle, took a bite from it, and started putting it on her face, which completely shocked Arnold. At first, KK laughed because it seemed audacious, but Paige was so convincing that, for a moment, KK almost believed it.
"You put the pickle? Is it working?" Arnold said. "I would try it. I need something to clean my face."
Arnold then ran into the kitchen and asked her mom to apply pickles to her face, but she refused. Bueckers then admitted she was kidding and revealed she uses CeraVe for her skin.
Paige Bueckers reveals her post-grad plans
Paige Bueckers, a two-time Big East Player of the Year, will enter her final year of college basketball in the upcoming season. Speaking at Variety & Sportico's Sports and Entertainment Summit last Friday, she explained her major life goals.
"Just continue to give back. That's my main value," Bueckers said. "I was very blessed and fortunate, I never had to worry about food on my plate, a roof over my head. So to be able to give back with what I've been given is the main goal and opportunity that I want to share with others."
"And continue to do my part in helping this world to become a better place and use my platform for good," Bueckers continued. "All while continuing to be a great teammate, a great leader. And balancing both basketball and everything else."
The Edina, Minnesota, native is a projected No. 1 pick in the 2025 WNBA draft. She had her best season in college during 2023-24, averaging 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Huskies.
