WATCH: USC's new basketball stars conquer LA Memorial Coliseum stairs in epic team ritual

The USC Trojans are coming off a dismal 2023-24 run. Underlined by Bronny James’ underwhelming college season, the program’s postseason-less 15-18 record came with the top freshman in the nation, Isaiah Collier, on their roster.

Nevertheless, there has been a major shakeup in the program, with new transfer additions and incoming coach Eric Musselman. As the team comes together in the offseason, the roster recently went through the ritual of running through the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum stairs.

The crew was divided into multiple teams to increase competitiveness resulting in Josh Cohen humorously advocating for his managerial skills after the win. The program posted a video of the same on July 20.

Be it the first-year roster of Mark Pope in Kentucky or the South Carolina Gamecocks staple Dawn Staley, off-court activities take up a huge chunk of the team's off-season endeavors. The detour promises great overall benefits in terms of team bonding and chemistry and to bridge the gap between returning and incoming players.

Mark Pope and the Wildcats, who are majorly built around transfer portal players and have technically no experience playing together, were directed to the football field last week. Before the players began running touchdown plays, the whole crew went through conditioning exercises and other drills.

Moreover, the lady Gamecocks were seen partaking in endurance and strength training exercises on a beach yesterday. USC's recent outing fuels from a similar goal as they aim to thrust their program back into the top spot.

USC Trojans harbors promising transfer class for the 2024-25 season

USC was expected to be a top 20 team last season and a potential top 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. However, injuries, personnel concerns, and personal concerns saw the program break apart. Top players like Boogie Ellis, Kobe Johnson, and Joshua Morgan are no longer returning to the school.

With that, the USC Trojan men’s basketball team now features 16 new students, including 12 new scholarship players through the 2024 recruitment class, transfer portal, and walk-on process.

Interestingly, new transfers Chibuzo Agbo, Rashaun Agee, Desmond Claude, and Josh Cohen combined for 59.5 points based on their scoring averages last season. The combined number nearly touches 150 when including numbers of all the 11 players in the transfer class.
