USC Trojans guard JuJu Watkins is looking to improve on her Freshman of the Year accolades as she enters her second year of college basketball. On Thursday, Watkins shared a clip from her offseason practice session on her Instagram story. The video showed her engaging in a Pilates exercise as she focused on improving her physical strength and flexibility.

Watkins attended one of the classes taught by Stefania Uche Okolie, a Los Angeles-based Pilates teacher. She can be seen demonstrating a "Backbend" or "Arch" on a Pilates reformer, supporting herself on one leg while the other leg is up in the air. Her hands are placed on a handlebar as the reformer moves back and forth.

Okolie was impressed by Watkins' dedication and posted a clip of her practicing Pilates in an Instagram story. Watkins then reposted Okolie's story on her own account, adding three smiling faces with hearts emojis.

Watkins, the top prospect of the 2023 class, is arguably the next big thing in college basketball. She has already made a name for herself following just a single season with USC.

The LA, California, native led the Trojans to Pac-12 Tournament glory and took them to the Elite Eight in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, averaging 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game.

Moreover, JuJu Watkins set a new NCAA Division I freshman scoring record with 920 points, surpassing the previous one of 898 set by Tina Hutchinson.

JuJu Watkins focuses on elevating women's basketball

USC star JuJu Watkins has been actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at empowering women in sports. In June, she traveled to France to participate in the 2024 Cannes Lions Festival.

Watkins recently collaborated with Meta for its "Super Fan" event in New York City. At the event, she talked about how Meta AI helps young athletes, especially those from less privileged backgrounds, by making it more accessible and impactful for them.

"It’s been a long journey to this point, but I think that it will continue with more media exposure," Watkins said. "I think the talent’s always been there, and it will continue to be there. So as long as we have the right platform to be put on the main stage, primetime slots, I think that our talent will speak for itself."

Watkins enters the new season as the WBCA Freshman of the Year, Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and a member of both the All-Pac-12 Team and the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.
