JuJu Watkins and the USC Trojans will open their 2024-25 season on Monday against Ole Miss in Paris. The sophomore guard, along with Dominique Darius, Kennedy Smith, and Rian Forestier took time off before the big day to take in Paris' sights.
Darius posted a TikTok of the four players dancing in front of the Eiffel Tower and the Togethxr account posted the video on Instagram on Friday with the caption:
"@uscwbb in Paris just vibin’ 😂"
Kennedy Smith was the first one to dance in the video as she wore a striped collared shirt with a skirt. Darius was up next to show off her dance moves with a USC puffer jacket and white pants. Then, JuJu Watkins, with a black shirt and black pants, busted out her moves as Rian Forestier videobombed behind her.
The game will be USC's first one in the Big Ten conference and the team is prepared to take on the new opponents.
“We feel great. We feel like we’re really ready for this,” freshman Kayleigh Heckel said per The Daily Trojan. “We’ve worked really hard, we have a lot of team chemistry, all of us are close … Everyone knows what each other does on the court, and we just play to each other’s strengths.”
JuJu Watkins and Co. set to lead a new chapter of USC history
JuJu Watkins played an important role in the revival of the USC Trojans program after years of underperformance. Fans thronged back to the Galen Center to see Watkins and her team take the program back to the peak and the Trojans are ready to build on the hype.
"Everybody has a different version of why they come to SC. As the program, I mean we're kinda hot right now," Watkins said.
"The season that we had, looking at the trajectory of it, we're setting the standard now. We're building a new era of USC women's basketball. People will be crazy not to be a part of it."
Along with JuJu Watkins, the Trojans have added KiKi Iriafen and Talia von Oelhoffen to the roster with other top recruits for the 2024 freshman class. This has added to the USC buzz as fans expect the team to go on a potential championship bid this season.
The USC Trojans' biggest competition in the postseason run will be South Carolina and UConn, who also face similar championship expectations.
