Washington junior Elle Ladine dropped a career-high 40 points on Northwestern on Saturday, leading the Huskies to a 90-71 win. At Welsh-Ryan Arena for their first Big Ten victory this season, Ladine also matched career-highs with six assists and ten 3-point attempts, making six of them.

After the match, Ladine was greeted with an exuberant reaction from her teammates as they celebrated her dominating performance.

They surprised her as she entered the locker room with water bottles pouring all over her. At first, Ladine was caught off-guard and tried to dodge the onslaught, but she quickly joined in on the excitement, chanting and embracing her teammates while drenched.

Washington Women's Basketball official Instagram account posted footage of the joyous locker room scene, writing "ELLE 40-POINT-GAME LADINE."

Along with her impressive scoring outburst, Ladine also recorded three rebounds and two steals.

Ladine's big night helped the Huskies pick up their first conference victory. Coach Tina Langley's team played a complete game on both ends of the floor, with Ladine leading the way on offense. This win made it three in a row for Washington who are 10-4 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play.

Elle Ladine is having a terrific season so far leading the Huskies in scoring at 15.9 after the 40-point outburst, climbing above Sayvia Sellers at 14.5, who had previously been the team's leading scorer.
