Kiyan Anthony's mother La La Anthony hosted her seventh annual Winter Wonderland charity event on Wednesday. Around 400 children aged between 8 and 16 from Bronx County enjoyed an evening of fun activities and dancing in the spirit of the holiday season.
Among the star guests attending the show was LeBron James’ wife Savannah. La La Anthony shared a picture of the two on her Instagram story on Thursday with the caption:
"(Savannah James) pulled up yesterday!!! We had the best time with the kids. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰."
Savannah then reposted the story to her Instagram and added:
"So fun supporting you!!!"
Commenting about the event (via Yahoo Sports), La La Anthony said:
"It's 400, sometimes over 400 inner city kids that come. We have performances, dance battles, we have dinner together. We give out gifts and clothing and winter coats and just a lot of amazing things for the kids."
Savannah James and La La Anthony have high school senior sons who will be starting their college journeys next year. Kiyan Anthony has chosen to play for the Syracuse Orange, just like his father, Carmelo Anthony, did 22 years ago.
Meanwhile, Bryce James has yet to make a decision but has reportedly received offers from Duquesne and Ohio State. He also took an unofficial recruiting visit to the University of Arizona in late November.
La La shares her thoughts on Kiyan Anthony moving out for college
Kiyan Anthony is playing his final season with the Long Island Lutheran High School. The guard is ranked No. 36th overall and is the first among the prospects in New York.
While Kiyan Anthony will still stay within the state when moving to college, it is still a huge change, and it seems like he is more than ready for it. In an interview with The Blast, La La Anthony spoke of her son's excitement for college.
"Yesterday he was showing me how he wanted to decorate his dorm, like, 'Mom, I want to get this couch, and this and this and this.'" she said. "And I'm like we're really having this conversation? I was like, wow, this is happening.
"I'm so excited, and you know, there's sadness there, too just because I'm gonna miss him, but excited to see him on this next journey and phase of life."
The Syracuse Orange last won their NCAA championship in 2003, with Carmelo leading them.
