Flau’jae Johnson is known for her diverse talents. The LSU Tigers guard is a baller, rapper and social media influencer with 1.9 million followers on Instagram.
Following the release of her debut album "Best of Both Worlds," featuring rapper Lil Wayne and NLE Choppa, Johnson has ventured into a new project. She started a podcast titled "Best of Both Worlds" on Thursday.
In the pilot episode, Johnson sat down with her mother Kia J Brooks, and WNBA MVP Breanna Stewart appeared as a guest star. When Johnson asked her mom whom she wanted to collaborate with, Kia immediately responded with "the Kardashians."
"I want to collab with Kris Jenner," Brooks added. "I feel like we can do some great things together, and I'm just keeping it real, like, Kris has a lot of beautiful girls, but I have a lot of beautiful kids and talented kids, so I feel like I can kind of like be great in that space with her." Kia J Brooks is the founder and CEO of TFNA Entertainment & Sports Management, through which she manages players and athletes in securing marketing deals and helping their careers. She is also the manager of her daughter, 2023 NCAA champion Flau’jae Johnson.
Johnson also asked her mom whether she could make a deal with Adele.
"I can get that then. I have friends in the LeBron Camp, and they are fans of what we are doing right here in this space, they love it, and they support me. I can make some calls," Brooks said.
Flau’jae Johnson's mom Kia J Brooks aims to mimic Kris Jenner's success
Kia J Brooks has been a huge follower of Kris Jenner, an American businesswoman and socialite. She said her goal is to emulate Jenner's success.
"I'm trying to be the next Kris Jenner," Brooks said. "I have a lot of talented kids in this house. My son is writing music. He's an artist. He's into RnB. I have Nixon; he's on a football squad. He's doing really well. Aiden, he's the baby boss. He's really doing his thing. I also have some extra kids from my husband."
Brooks encouraged Flau’jae Johnson to pursue a dual career path, balancing both rap music and basketball. She was confident that doing both would benefit Johnson by boosting her NIL earnings. As of 2024, Johnson holds the highest NIL value in women's basketball, estimated at $1.2 million.
