LSU Tigers basketball star Flau'jae Johnson could not keep calm after Team USA's men's basketball team bagged their fifth consecutive gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Being a basketball player herself, the excitement was understandable for Johnson after the gold medal win.
Flau'jae Johnson shared a story on her Instagram to celebrate Team USA's 98-87 victory over France to clinch the gold medal in Paris. The LSU star's story showcased her copying LeBron James' iconic pool photo. She accompanied the post with a congratulatory message to commemorate Team USA's fifth straight men's basketball Olympics gold.
"We are the champions," the caption read with several American flag emojis.
LeBron James was named the MVP of this year's Olympics for his stellar performance on the court. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game during Team USA's Paris journey. Against France in the finals, the NBA star scored 14 points with six rebounds and 10 assists to his name.
Steph Curry also proved to be outstanding against France as his four clutch three-pointers in the fourth quarter proved to be game-changers to help the United States bag the gold medal. With this victory, LeBron James earned his fourth overall Olympic medal.
"I'm just living in the moment. Super humble that I can still play this game and play it at a high level. It cam with us winning gold and that's what's more important for me. It's pretty cool," LeBron James said after the victory.
Flau'jae Johnson celebrates Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's 2024 Olympics achievement
Apart from showcasing her support for the USA's basketball teams, Johnson also congratulated 400m women's hurdles and 4X400m relay star Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone's double gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She shared a tweet on X recognizing Levrone's achievements and dedication.
"sydney mclaughlin you dropped this," Flau'jae Johnson wrote with a crown emoji.
Levrone was successful in replicating the double gold she claimed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She broke her own world record during the 400m hurdles race, putting up a time of 50.37 seconds to bag the gold.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone also helped Team USA bag the gold medal in the women's 4x400m relay race. As Flau'jae Johnson continues to cheer on her country's 2024 Olympics achievements, she will also be looking forward to having success this upcoming season with the LSU Tigers.
