MiLaysia Fulwiley's No. 2 South Carolina dominated a 67-50 win over No. 5 Texas on Sunday, which marked their 11th straight victory. They shot 71% from the floor in the first half, building a 39-22 lead by halftime.
South Carolina nailed its first four field goals and converted its first three free throws to jump out to a quick 12-5 lead. Off the court, MiLaysia Fulwiley connected with fans in her signature style. She re-shared a post on Instagram originally shared by user foreverjay22. It featured a photo of herself, a fan and South Carolina’s beloved mascot, Cocky. Fulwiley captioned the post:

The trio of Fulwiley, Joyce Edwards and Ashlyn Watkins stepped up to fill the gap after being benched for a while. The Gamecocks’ bench shone brightly in their Thursday's blowout victory over Texas A&M. South Carolina cruised to a 90-49 win, improving to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in SEC play. Fulwiley played a key role in the victory, contributing 17 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.

While her stats were impressive, one specific play against Texas A&M on Thursday, stood out. In the fourth quarter, Fulwiley made a fast-break play after stealing the ball and saving it from going out of bounds.
She quickly raced it down the court for a spectacular behind-the-back layup. Fulwiley evaded a defender, absorbed contact and completed the play despite being fouled. The highlight was featured as No. 8 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays the following day.
Fulwiley has been a steady contributor for South Carolina, averaging 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block per game. With a record of 15-1 and a perfect start in SEC play, South Carolina is firmly positioned as one of the top teams in the nation. Their next challenge is on Thursday night when they travel to face No. 18 Alabama.
