Aside from practice sessions as the new head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Jan Jensen has also been supporting her former players, Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin. The coach and her family, wife Julie Fitzpatrick and children, attended the Las Vegas Aces game against the Washington Mystics on Thursday.

Fitzpatrick shared the pictures from the game, which the Aces won 98-77. The family was also supporting former Iowan Megan Gustafson.

"We ❤️ The Las Vegas Aces. Great job #20 and #17. ❤️♦️❤️♦️," she wrote in the caption.

Kate Martin is related to Jensen through Julie Fitzpatrick, who is the guard's aunt. She commented on her cousin's growth spurt:

"Jack makes me look like a shrimp now!!!"

On Tuesday, when the Aces took on Indiana Fever, Jan Jensen was also in attendance. She was joined by former coach Lisa Bluder. Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark came together to spend time with Bailey Lux, a 14-year-old cancer survivor from Iowa. Lux is a long-time fan of both the Hawkeyes and was a regular at their games in the Carver-Hawkeye arena.

Clark gifted the young fan a jersey with autographs from Fever players, while Martin and the Aces signed a basketball for Lux.

“They don’t care, they win the next game and the next game," Lux said. "And it just helps me like say 'Hey, if I keep trying I will, I can win, I’m never going to give up.' They’ve impacted my life and I’m really grateful that I got to meet them all," Bailey Lux said.

It was reported that Kate Martin played a big role in Bailey's coming to Las Vegas. Her father, Kraig Lux said to the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

“Kate (Martin) had been reaching out. I think she probably had something to do with the back side of things. She had reached out on Friday and sent me a message saying she wanted to fly us out to the game. I don’t know how much she had to deal with, I know it was difficult to get this done so quickly … but this is spirit-lifting.

Jan Jensen hires new assistant coaches for post-Caitlin Clark/Kate Martin era in Iowa

Caitlin Clark, along with Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, formed the core team in Iowa that took the Hawkeyes to two consecutive title games in March Madness. With Clark and Martin in the WNBA and Marshall officially retiring from playing, the Hawkeyes have a tough road ahead.

With the addition of Lucy Olsen to the team and three players from the incoming freshman class, Coach Jensen still has a talented team at her disposal.

And now, she also has a couple of new assistant coaches in Randi Henderson and Sean Sullivan, whose hirings were announced on Wednesday. Both are Iowa alums.

Henderson will serve as an assistant coach, while Sullivan will be both assistant coach and general manager.
