No. 2 Auburn will face No. 9 Duke Wednesday and Johni Broome is talking ahead of the game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Tigers are coming off a massive 90-76 win against Memphis at the Maui Invitational championship last Wednesday.

Broome opened the scoring with a 3-pointer from the right wing in just 22 seconds, and finished with 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead Auburn to the title. The Tigers hope to continue their undefeated run (9-0) against Cooper Flagg's Duke Wednesday night.

In a pre-game press conference posted by Bryan Matthews on YouTube, Broome spoke alongside teammate Chaney Johnson about the Tigers' experience and expectations to win at Maui.

"You know a lot guys like Chaney, we don't let success get too high. You know, we don't get too happy off of things that we're supposed to do, you know. We all went to Maui expecting to win. But like, you know, we won a tournament as part of basketball."

Broome also spoke about Auburn's preparation as they hit the road for Duke, where he expects a hostile atmosphere.

"You know we got another big game on the road, probably one of the toughest environments and college basketball in three days. So we got back on Friday and we travelled on Tuesday."
"So we got to have a couple of good practices in order to get a roll with and keep the success going." (4:29)

Auburn's Johni Broome to face Duke's star freshman Cooper Flagg

Duke will play host to Auburn in the second day of SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday. The Blue Devils have the upper hand over the Tigers 3-0 in the all-time series. They are hoping for a second consecutive win after defeating Seattle U 70-48 a few days after narrowly losing 75-72 to No. 1 Kansas in Las Vegas.

The Tigers, led Broome, are coming off a 3-0 showing at the Maui Invitational with wins over Iowa State, North Carolina and Memphis. They remain undefeated and have cemented their place as one of the best teams in college basketball this season.

Duke star freshman Cooper Flagg will now go up against Broome in a battle of two of the best players in the sport. Flagg scored only 13 points in the loss to the Jayhawks, while Broome had 21 in the Maui Invitational championship.
