"Women like compliments": Carmelo Anthony's ex La La once revealed how she’s raising Kiyan to honor women and appreciate acts of kindness

La La Anthony shares a close bond with her son, Kiyan Anthony. In an interview, the internet personality revealed her special efforts to ensure that she raises her son to be a good man.

In January 2023, La La made an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” Hudson has a son, David Daniel Otunga Jr., with her ex-husband. Both mothers were talking about their sons when the host asked La La how she teaches Kiyan to care and be respectful to women.

"I lead by example," La La said. "I'll tell him you know if I get dressed for an event or something and I'm just leaving, he might not say anything. I'm like, you know, do you think Mom looks nice? He's like, 'Yeah Mom, you look really nice'. Just make sure you say that because women like to hear compliments.

"Women like people that do nice things for them. So I start with me so he can learn from me on how to do that. Or I'll tell them like, you know it's okay to have friends and if someone does something nice for you, acknowledge that. Let them know that you know that was nice, but that made you feel special. It's okay to do that," La La added.

Kiyan Anthony gets his mother's face tattooed on his arm

Kiyan Anthony got his mother's face inked on his forearm. He also included an inscription which read:

“Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you everyday.”

The 17-year-old does not shy away from showing his love for his mother. In a video posted on his birthday, he said:

"My relationship with my mom? We locked in. That's my ride-or-die. My relationship with her is more than that [mother-son]. She is my best friend. We do everything together."

While he is enjoying his summer vacation, Kiyan Anthony is also preparing for his senior year in high school. He has yet to reveal his final college choice but has narrowed it down to six schools.

It remains to be seen who among Syracuse, Auburn, Florida State, Ohio State, USC, and Rutgers receives a commitment from Kiyan.
