"Worthy selection" "What a time it was" — Duke basketball fans react to former Blue Devils star JJ Redick's Athletics Hall of Fame induction announcement

Former Duke Blue Devil JJ Redick added another title to his name on Tuesday: Hall of Famer. Redick and nine former athletes and coaches in this year's Duke Athletics Hall of Fame class were inducted into the list.

The Duke fans were delighted with this and let their emotions known on the Instagram post by the Blue Devils men's basketball team:

One fan claimed that J.J. Redick is his favorite Duke player:

"I love JJ my all time favorite Duke player."

Another fan complimented Redick along with two goat emojis:

This fan called Redick the greatest of all time:

Duke University alum and co-owner of Cameo Steven Galanis also commented:

JJ Redick is joined by Monique Currie (women’s basketball), Dr. Abby Johnston McGrath (women’s diving), Quinton McCracken (baseball and football), Anna Grzebien Vanderlinde (women’s golf), Chris Port (football), Becca Ward (fencing), Matt Danowski (men’s lacrosse) and John Danowski (men’s lacrosse coach).

Duke’s men’s lacrosse coach, John Danowski, has led the Blue Devils to three NCAA championships (2010, 2013 and 2014). His son and the current Duke assistant coach Matt Danowski, was a three-time All-American during his Duke playing career from 2004 to 2008.

Monique Currie won the ACC tournament MVP honors in 2002 and was named ACC Player of the Year in 2005. Dr. John McGrath was a part of the roster that won the NCAA championship in 2011.

Becca Ward also won the NCAA championship in 2009 and 2011 and had a 272-7 record. McCracken represented Duke in baseball and football from 1988 to 1992 before becoming an MLB pro.

He was with teammate Chris Port when Duke won the 1989 ACC championship. Vanderlinde won three consecutive NCAA championships from 2005 to 2007 on Duke's women's golf teams.
