LSU star Flau'jae Johnson's stepfather, Ameen Brooks, was left in disbelief after learning about the tragic death of 18-year-old high school hooper Sekya Smith. On Monday, Brooks expressed his grief over the situation on Instagram by sharing a post that reported Smith's death.
Along with the post, Brooks also summed up his feelings on Smith's death with a few words.
"Wtf. Come on y'all, we got to tighten up," Brooks wrote.
Per WSB-TV, Smith was fatally shot last Tuesday after an unidentified person started shooting at her friend's house, located on the 1100 Block of Smith Street near her apartment in Southwest Atlanta. The Atlanta police continue to search for the culprit, who remains at large.
Smith was a promising player at Carver High School. Cara Frattasi, a spokesperson for Purpose Built Schools Atlanta, said in a statement (Per Atlanta News First):
"The PBSA family is devastated about the tragic death of senior, Sekya Smith. Smith was not only a star athlete and student, but she was also a cherished friend and member of our Carver STEAM family.
"Everyone who knew Sekya loved her; she touched countless lives and will be forever missed. Carver STEAM will offer counseling to staff and students and is planning a memorial service in her honor."

Johnson has made a strong start to her junior season at LSU. So far, she has averaged an impressive 20.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.0 rebounds.
No. 6 LSU will travel to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks in its conference opener, which will take place on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
