Dawn Staley requested Barack Obama to "borrow" Michelle for a short time
During the USA Basketball 50th anniversary reception on July 10, Dawn Staley met former President Barack Obama. She was seen talking to him, which she later shared in a tweet:
"If he isn’t the coolest man on earth….. @BarackObama thank you for your inspiration and leadership still. Now please let us borrow @MichelleObama for just 4 short years! First Gentleman is a good look for you! 🥰🥰🥰"
This is not the first time that Michelle Obama has been requested to run for presidency. With mounting expectations around the upcoming elections, a spokesperson for the Obamas cleared the air once again earlier this year. They said in a statement:
“As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president. Mrs. Obama supports President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ re-election campaign.”
There have been a few changes since this announcement as Biden has bowed out of the race and Kamala Harris has replaced him.
