Caitlin Clark's boyfriend Connor McCaffery celebrated his birthday on Saturday and he received wishes from his brothers Patrick and Jack McCaffery. Patrick, a college basketball player, played for the Iowa Hawkeyes for four seasons. He will spend his final college eligibility season with the Butler Bulldogs.
"Happy bday to my twin. You know we rock 4L," McCaffery wrote.
Caitlin Clark also wished Connor with a post on Instagram. The couple made things social media official last summer and celebrated their first anniversary in April 2024. In her post, Clark wrote:
"Happy Birthday Con! Celebrating you is easy :) thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life. May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me ;) Love you always"
Connor McCaffery played for five years with the Iowa Hawkeyes before graduating in May 2023 with two degrees in finance and political science. Right after, he took up the team assistant position with the Indiana Pacers.
“It’s a way in," Connor told the Des Moines Register. "It’s an entry-level job. You’ve got to work hard and work your way up. That’s obviously what I want to do."
“I’ll play dummy defense, run the scout team, help coaches on film stuff, help on video projects if they need, scouting reports if they need,” he explained. “Whatever you’re asked to do, be ready to do it."
Caitlin Clark's historic rookie season in the WNBA continues
In her latest clash against the Phoenix Mercury, Caitlin Clark scored 20 points, 13 assists and six rebounds. She became the second rookie since Angel McCoughtry, to post at least 20 points and 10 assists in a game. Clark is the first to do it back-to-back.
In the same game, Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record 400 points, 100 rebounds and 150 assists in a single season. A week earlier, in the games against New York Liberty, Clark recorded her first triple-double, a first for a rookie in the WNBA.
With her stuffed stat sheet, Caitlin Clark is in a close race with Angel Reese for the WNBA Rookie of the Year title. The Chicago Sky forward has a slight edge over Clark due to her historic 15 consecutive double-doubles. Meanwhile, the Fever guard broke the record for the most turnovers in a season (127).
Caitlin Clark has managed to bring Indiana into playoff contention for the first time in years, as they occupy the seventh spot. It remains to be seen how things will unfold in the remaining games.
