Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have formed a special relationship as teammates at UConn. They have become best friends while representing UConn, and have often shown their camaraderie not just during practice and Huskies' games, but off the court as well.
An example of this was seen in May 2020, when Bueckers traveled all the way to Fudd's hometown, Arlington, amid the raging coronavirus pandemic. In a bid to entertain her fans, Fudd uploaded a video of herself and Bueckers dying their hair purple to her YouTube channel.
Towards the end of the coloring process, Fudd made a comment on Bueckers' new look just before it was completed.
"You look like a pixie," Fudd said.
While Fudd was yet to show off how her hair looked after dying it purple, the Huskies duo were all smiles at the end of the video.
Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd land NIL deal with Madison Reed
This August, Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd became the latest ambassadors of the ColorWonder line from Madison Reed.. Besides them, the popular hair care brand also signed their Huskies teammates, Ice Brady and Morgan Cheli.
Since signing the deal, they have been active in promoting the brand. The Huskies stars featured in a commercial towards the end of September and then took over Los Angeles this October to promote the ColorWonder line. There, they met some of their fans in a sprawling event.
Fudd was ruled out for the majority of last season after tearing her ACL on Nov. 14, 2023. She recovered in time to feature in UConn's game against FDU, with the Huskies' 85-41 victory being coach Geno Auriemma's 1,217th win, making him the winningest coach of all-time in men's and women's college basketball.
Fudd has started two of the six games she has appeared in this season and has averaged 8.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists. Meanwhile, Bueckers has been stealing the show with UConn in her final season of college basketball, averaging 20.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.0 steals across the Huskies' 12 games.
The Huskies are currently seventh in the AP Top 25, and will begin the new year by traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for their next game, where they will face conference rivals Marquette on January 1.
