Flau'jae Johnson released the second episode of her newly launched podcast on Friday. Named after the debut album, which launched on June 28, Johnson hosted NLE Choppa, the only artist with multiple featured tracks from her Best of Both Worlds album.
In the teaser for the episode, Choppa shared that he is new to the world of women's basketball. Nevertheless, he named Falu'jae Johnson as her favorite women's college player and praised JuJu Watson for her one-of-a-kind rookie year. Moreover, he named former Wildcat Rob Dillingham his favorite from the men's side.
"I've really been watching a lot of female basketball," Choppa said. "I ain't gon lie, I really didn't know too many of the college guys. I know the big boy at Purdue, I've seen a few clips of him but I ain't gonna lie I was so deeply invested in the WNBA and college basketball, women's sports. Imma be a 100," he added.
"But yeah, you are my favorite hooper in college basketball. I can't wait to get to some games too. I love JuJu. JuJu got good game as well. On the boys side though, I really like Rob's game too. The things he did last year," Choppa followed.
NLE Choppa is a rapper from Memphis, who initially garnered eyeballs from a cypher-style song "No Chorus Pt. 3" in December 2018. He then capitalized on the online buzz by releasing a breakout song named "Shotta Flow" next year.
NLE Choppa and Flau'jae Johnson share a love for basketball
Part of what makes Flau'jae Johnson one of the biggest brands is her dual career. While she has made waves with her album and Lil Wayne connection recently, she is also a basketball player at LSU.
Flau'jae Johnson was named the 2022-23 Freshman of the Year for the Southeastern Conference and also contributed to lifting the NCAA title.
On the other hand, while he has solely transitioned to his music career, NLE Choppa has a longtime passion for basketball as well. He was part of the Cordova High School’s basketball group while growing up in Parkway Village, Tennessee. However, he was forced to quit the team due to some of his actions on and off-court activities.
Nevertheless. Choppa still manages to hit the court and surprise his fans by posting on-court battles with his friends and fellow rappers.
