“Your memory lives on”: Mother Kia Brooks, step-father Ameen Brooks react to Flau’jae Johnson’s emotional birthday wish for late father 

Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers guard Flau'jae Johnson posted a message on Monday in honor of her late father. In an Instagram post, Johnson made an emotional birthday wish for her late father. Her mother, Kia Brooks, and stepfather, Ameen Brooks, were quick to comment on the post, reassuring Johnson of their support.

Flau’jae Johnson lost her father, Jason Johnson, popularly known as Camouflage, in 2003 after he was reportedly murdered while Flau’jae was about six months old.

Kia Brooks also manages Flau'jae Johnson's deals and endorsements through FNA Sports & Entertainment Management. Ameen Brooks, Flau'jae's stepfather, also takes care of travel for the LSU guard and her music group.

The Brooks both commented on Johnson's Instagram post:

Johnson has continued to improve each season as she consistently increases her output for the Tigers. She averaged 11.0 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.2 spg, and 42.4 FG% in 2022-23 and 14.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.1 spg, and 50.4 FG% in 2023-24.

She has been a standout player for LSU since joining the Tigers in 2022.
