Haley Cavinder's Miami Hurricanes looking for answers as they endure losing rut
Haley Cavinder is trying to send some good vibes to her fans with her latest Instagram post following a horrible stretch from the Miami Hurricanes in their recent outings. They have lost three consecutive games after the Christmas break, with Miami's record dropping to 11-4 after an 11-1 start.
The Hurricanes' losing streak started on Dec. 29, when they faced then-No. 17 North Carolina at Watsco Center. Miami lost 69-60 despite a double-double performance from Cavinder, who scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Miami started the new year with another defeat, losing 74-56 to the Louisville Cardinals on Thursday. Cavinder led the Hurricanes in scoring with 19 points on 5-for-15 shooting. She struggled with her outside shot, making just one of her six attempts from beyond the arc.
Things went from bad to worse for Miami on Sunday, when they were defeated 68-64 by the Virginia Tech Hokies. Cavinder recorded 12 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Hurricanes, who have lost three of their first four games against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
