The North Carolina Tar Heels is the men's basketball team representing the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the NCAA Division. The North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team was founded back in 1910. While the program is known for its culture, the program has also achieved a total of six NCAA championships in 1957, 1982, 1993, 2005, 2009, and 2017. They also appeared in the Final Four 21 times which is the most by any program in NCAA Division History. The North Carolina Tar Heels earned 33 regular-season ACC titles and have sent 20 players to the Olympics. They are rivals with Duke University and host their home games at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
