The Northern Kentucky Norse is the men's basketball team representing Northern Kentucky University in the NCAA Division I. The Norse transitioned to NCAA Division I in 2012, and have won four Horizon League championships and two GLVC titles. They made 16 total appearances in the NCAA Tournament, 13 at the Division II level and three at the Division I level. They were the Conference regular season champions in Horizon Conference twice in 2018 and 2019 and in GLVC five times in 1995, 1997, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Darrin Horn is the head coach of the Northern Kentucky Norse for the 2024–2025 season. Horn was the assistant head coach for Texas Longhorns from 2015-2019 before joining the Norse. He was also the head coach at South Carolina Gamecocks from 2008-2012. Horn led his team to two Sun Belt regular season championships in 2006 and 2008. His team also won the Sun Belt tournament in 2008. He earned two Horizon League championships in 2020 and 2023.
