
The Ohio State Buckeyes is the women's basketball team representing Ohio State University in the NCAA Division I Basketball. They compete in the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes women’s team was established in 1965 and plays their home games at Value City Arena, which has a capacity of 18,809 fans. Ohio State were the runners-up in the NCAA tournament in 1993 and made it to the Final Four the same year. The team made it to the Elite Eight four times in 1985, 1987, 1993, and 2023. Ohio State appeared in the NCAA tournament 27 times, including their last appearances in 2022, 2023, and 2024. They won the conference tournament championships in 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2011. The Buckeyes have won 17 regular-season conference championships, most recently in 2024, as well as in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1993, and 2005.

Kevin McGuff is the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes women’s team for the 2024–2025 season. McGuff has been the Buckeyes' head coach since 2013. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Miami (Ohio) during the season 1995–1996 before he transferred to Notre Dame in 1996 until 2002, winning the 2001 NCAA Championship and the Big East Title. McGuff was appointed as Xavier's head coach in 2002, guiding the team to three Atlantic 10 regular-season championships and four conference tournament titles. He coached Washington from 2011-2013 before moving to Ohio State in 2013. McGuff won four Big Ten regular-season championships in 2017, 2018, 2022, and 2024 and the 2018 Big Ten Tournament with the Buckeyes. He also earned the Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2024.

Associate Head Coach
Carla Morrow has been the Associate Head Coach of the Buckeyes' women's basketball team since 2021. She joined the Buckeyes in 2019 following her stint with WNBA's Chicago Sky. Morrow was also the assistant coach at Xavier University. Morrow played collegiate basketball for Tulsa and signed with the Seattle Storm in the WNBA.
