College basketball fans reacted to the latest achievement by Miami guard Haley Cavinder after she accumulated 1,000 rebounds in her five-year collegiate career. The 5-foot-6 guard hauled her 1,000th rebound in the Hurricanes' 68–64 loss to Virginia Tech last Jan. 5.
The University of Miami women's basketball team held a small ceremony before the game against Boston College on Thursday to recognize Haley Cavinder's feat. She received a ball with her name and the words "1,000th career rebound" and the date she grabbed the board (January 5, 2025).
Her sister and teammate Hanna Cavinder reacted to Haley's feat on Instagram.
"Queenie," Hanna Cavinder wrote.
Fans reacted to the social media personality/basketball player's latest accolade, with some praising the fifth-year guard.
"Wow, that is so awesome," a fan wrote.
"Let’s go Hay!!!" Another wrote.

However, some had hilarious reactions to Haley Cavender's latest achievement.

Haley Cavinder is in her fifth season in the NCAA. She played her first three seasons with Fresno State before transferring to Miami in her fourth season.
After the 2023-24 season, Haley committed to TCU for her fifth season. Still, she decided to return to Miami and joined her twin sister Hanna, who returned from a one-year hiatus.
Haley Cavinder is carrying the load for the Miami Hurricanes
Haley Cavinder has been putting up impressive numbers for the Miami Hurricanes (11-6, 1-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference) months after she decided to play her fifth year of eligibility. She played 17 games and averaged 17.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Despite her efforts, the Hurricanes have hit a brick wall, losing their fifth straight game against Boston College 83–79 on Thursday. She finished with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. She shot 7-of-19, including 1-of-6 from 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
Miami will play Florida State (14-4, 4-2) on Sunday at the Donald I. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. They are coming off an 82–67 win over Clemson (10-8, 3-4).
It is expected to be an exciting ballgame between the Hurricanes and the Seminoles, as the Cavinder twins will lock horns with women's top scorer Ta'Niya Latson.
